Our Approach
Failure to grow Scotland’s economy will be catastrophic for all of us proud to live and work in Scotland.
A small country within a small country, with declining influence in the world. We must make the most of all our Human Capital and Knowledge, and indeed attract more of it to live and work from Scotland. Then we might achieve our worthy ambition of becoming “the Best small country in the world”.
Collaboration between parties requires a structured approach to developing and achieving shared outcomes.
This article in the Municipal Journal outlines the MJI contribution
to the agenda for shared services across Scotland’s public sector:
"Boldly
Building a Better Scotland".
Three C’s drive our approach.
CONTEXT
We provide continuous insight into the thinking and programme implementation activities of colleagues across the sectors. This supplemented by regular personal briefings on key issues of the day and private dinners or seminars. We help each party to understand their goals in the context of other stakeholders.
For example. A public Sector Shared Services Strategy will be published shortly. Potential private sector providers cannot be expected to frame an appropriate response or prepare an effective tender to support a more efficient delivery of shared services without fully understanding the political context at every level.
COLLABORATION
For example, we are working with a major local authority to deliver a pilot around Workforce Planning that can be extended to other Local Authorities therefore reducing the cost per user and sharing project initiation costs.
COMMUNITY
Collaboration is an ongoing and ever changing process.
We manage Communities of Common Purpose. We share best in class from around the world, working with a range of business, public, and third sector partners to add value to any debate.
